I am currently Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at Yale School of Management (Yale University) and an affiliate of The Broad Center for Transformative Leadership in Public Education. My research examines how organizations negotiate diversity and difference, with a particular focus on processes of evaluation and organizational sanctioning of deviant behavior. Using methods ranging from social experiments and text-as-data to analyses of large-scale data from surveys and administrative records, my work seeks to advance our understanding of how evaluation practices can reproduce racial/ethnic and gender stratification within and between organizations. I am currently studying how organizational evaluation processes can contribute to racial/ethnic and gender inequality through two streams of research.
